“Hot Summer“ conveys a twofold meaning. Besides depicting the warm ambiance of a summer day, where a girl adorned in strawberry hues savors the sun rays, the painting also draws from the symbolic elements of Klimt’s opera “The Kiss.“ In this context, the circular motifs represent feminine aspects while the square patterns embody masculine characteristics. “Hot Summer“, therefore, portrays a young woman enjoying fervent love, with the sun’s quadratic rays serving as a metaphor for masculine passion.

“Gilda” is the feminine essence that illuminates her father’s life.
